Confessions On A Dance Floor

Our A/W15 Collection
Massive thanks to all of you who have been to see us over the past few weeks, its been pretty hectic but all the packed out dance floors have made it worth it – you did our disco proud! We had a great time DJing & bringing the grrl power at TYCI, although we were rather gutted not to get tickets to their Carrie Brownstein night (and are now well jeal of all of you lucky folk who managed).

The weekend after that we launched We Love Pop Club Glasgow which was a poptastic dream come true. Our Spotify playlist sums up how much fun it was, all Girls Aloud b-sides & Rachel Stevens album tracks. Zayn may have lost his sense of direction, but he did a fine job manning the doors – everybody wanna Steal Our Boy (in fact someone actually did!) We are still LOLing at someone asking for their umbrella from the stage and us mistaking it for a Rihanna request, although the highlight of the night were those boys that knew ALL the Biology moves – so glad to know we are not alone! We will be back at ABC2 on Fri 30 Oct for a Murder on The Dancefloor Halloween special featuring special guest DJs from Fascination & We Love Pop Club London. Tickets are available here, get those pop star costumes at the ready as there will be prizes a plenty!

We also had a fab night at The Icon Awards last week, the star studded event which celebrated the good and the great from Scotland’s LGBTI community. We were treated to lots of ace performances including Conchita who can certainly belt out a tune, and there were video messages from all our faves – from Lorraine Kelly to RuPaul to Nicola Sturgeon! Highlights of the night included meeting the guy from boyband Rewind who passed out while wearing the contents of his carry on during an Easyjet flight, plus we got to meet Michelle Visage from Drag Race in all her booby glory. It got us excited for all the red carpet action to come over the next few months including a swanky awards ceremony which we are DJing at (but can’t tell you about yet!)

That was then followed by a road trip to Crear to DJ at a gorgeous wedding. If you’ve never been, its a beautiful artists studio right on the west coast of the Highlands where Editors recorded their last album. It was so remote that we had seals for company! If you’re also planning your nuptials, we’ll be DJing at the next Wedding Collective fair this Sun 18 Oct at St Lukes – we cannae wait to play in their already legendary DJ pulpit!

As we gear up for our bonanza birthday celebrations we are launching a competition to reward our most loyal regulars – and we need your dancefloor confessionals! This November Pretty Ugly reaches its tenth year, and after all those years of dancefloor debauchery, our memory ain’t what it used to be. That’s why this disco needs YOU to tell us all your tales of decadence and excess from your Pretty Ugly related shenanigans. We want to hear ALL of your stories & see all your pics – The Good, The Bad AND The Pretty Ugly! Comment below, on social media with #GoodBadPrettyUgly or tag us in your throwback pics (you can even PM or email us if its so so so scandalous – names can be changed to protect the innocent). We’ll pick our Top 10 tales to win some special prizes.
